History of Ark Intervals

The Idea

The idea for a training program for professionals was initially conceived when founding partner Noah Krug noticed an employee struggling to lose weight before a scheduled event. Noah decided to offer the employee paid time off each week so that she could focus on getting in shape, without feeling the pressure of missing work. He felt that if the office supported her in her endeavor, and if she was able to dedicate an hour or two a day to her fitness, that she would be successful. And she was. The employee lost the weight.

The Inspiration

This inspired Noah to develop the Ark Physical Fitness Challenge for his company. This program offered employees a few hours of paid time each week to spend at the gym or playing a sport. Noah led by example by using the time to train for endurance and multi-sport events. As the program gained popularity, Noah began to notice increased productivity, focus, and morale in the workplace. Eventually he extended the Challenge to his clients. As more and more businesspeople signed up to enter endurance events, Noah began to see the health-oriented, philanthropic, and professional rewards of the program on a greater scale.

The Creation

Noah then created Ark Intervals in an effort to bring the personal benefits of endurance sports to the wider business community. Companies can now implement health-conscious incentives by endorsing teams of employees and encouraging them to achieve their Personal Best. This serves as an opportunity for healthy professionals in the area to network with one another, reach personal fitness goals, and find the true balance between work and life. All while crossing a finish line and accomplishing the unthinkable.
